Amad Diallo will make his first appearance in Manchester United colours in their Under-23s game against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.
Diallo, 18 completed his move from Atalanta earlier this month in a deal worth an initial £18.7m which could rise to £37million.
The young Ivorian winger has already caught the eye in training having been thrown straight into the first-team squad.
And manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he is in line to feature for Neil Wood’s Under-23s side in their away game against Liverpool on Saturday (1pm GMT).
“Yes, Amad will play in the game against Liverpool in the Under-23s,” Solskjaer told MUTV.
“He’s been training really well and settling in.
“He’s ready to get some game-time and match exposure.
“I’m looking forward to seeing him. [Liverpool?] There you go. Welcome to English football!”
Solskjaer has already indicated he sees Diallo’s role as a right winger, something United have been craving for a number of months.
“That’s his preferred position,” Solskjaer said earlier this month.
“He is good at finding space, he can go inside and outside and he will get the time to prove that he is the one.
“Along the way we have got Mason, Marcus [Rashford], Daniel [James], Juan [Mata] and Paul [Pogba] has played there, so we have options but I think when you look at the squad and you look at Amad and you think, yeah, that’s probably where we will work to fit you in.
“There will need to be some adjustment to settle into the hustle and bustle of the physical part of the Premier League but I can’t see it being too long until he’s in the squad.”
One of his rivals for the spot on the right wing, Mason Greenwood, has also been impressed by his new team-mate.
He said this week: “We’ve got a new player Amad that’s come in, he’s a wonderful technical player so I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of him soon.”
All eyes will be on the hot prospect against Liverpool in a first glimpse of him in the famous Red Devils kit.
