Mateo Kovacic insult overheard as Thomas Tuchel points finger at "rusty" Chelsea star

The Blues are keen to offload some of their fringe players to raise funds this summer. Chelsea are hoping to earn over £10million by sellingMichy Batshuayi this summer, according to reports. Batshuayi doesn’t appear to have a future at the club under Thomas Tuchel and the Blues are therefore keen to cash in while they still can.

The Belgian spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Crystal Palace, but still has a year left on his Chelsea contract, having signed an extension last summer.

He scored two goals in 19 appearances for the Eagles yet remains a regular in Roberto Martinez’s Belgium squad and will feature in this summer’s European Championships.

Batshuayi originally joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2016 in a deal worth up to £33m and the club had high hopes for him.

However, he failed to make an impact under Antonio Conte, who won the 2016/17 Premier League title with Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Willian as his front three.

The 27-year-old striker made just 18 starts during his first 18 months at Chelsea before being sent out on loan to Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Palace.

He was back at Chelsea for the 2019/20 campaign but was once again left frustrated, as Frank Lampard favoured Tammy Abraham and Olivier Giroud up front.

Batshuayi is expected to return to Cobham after playing in the Euros with Belgium, but football.london reports that his stay will be short lived.

Chelsea are hoping to recoup a fee ‘in excess of £10m’ for Batshuayi, who has ‘at least one top-half Premier League club interested’ in winning his signature.

No formal offer has been submitted yet, but the Blues will be hopeful he can impress for Belgium to drum up some more interest.

Michy Batshuayi

Having twice taken him on loan, Palace could be in the picture, while Turkish newspaper Fanatik have reported that Trabzonspor are interested.

Batshuayi is not the only player likely to leave Chelsea this summer, with Giroud, Abraham, Fikayo Tomori, Emerson Palmieri, Ross Barkley, Danny Drinkwater, Baba Rahman, Kenedy and Victor Moses all open to departures.

Giroud is out of contract at the end of June and has been linked with AC Milan, while Abraham has attracted attention from Leicester and West Ham, with the Blues placing a £40m price tag on him.

Tomori has impressed on loan at AC Milan, who want to make the move permanent, Moses is set to join Spartak Moscow and Emerson is thought to have offers in Italy.

Meanwhile, the club will listen to any offers for Barkley, Drinkwater, Rahman and Kenedy, who have been out on loan
