The Uruguayan media sounds pretty gutted today following the confirmation that one of their biggest stars won’t be featuring in the national team’s next two matches.

As reported by Ovación Digital, Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani was suspended by FIFA following a red card he received in the game against Brazil in November.

The 33-year-old was supposed to be automatically ruled out for one game, but due to the severity of his step on the ankle of Everton star Richarlison, he got an extra match.

Cavani is now set to miss the games against Argentina and Bolivia, which are seen as crucial for Uruguay’s campaign to get to the World Cup next year.
